Why is orthodontic care important?

Getting orthodontic treatment can make a significant difference in your life. The most obvious benefit is the dental cosmetic improvement it will provide. A pleasing smile will mean that you can make great first impressions! And great first impressions can open the door for opportunities in your life.

In addition to the dental cosmetics aspect, there are oral health benefits as well. When you have a straight, balanced smile, you are able to better avoid dental issues such as cavities, gum disease, and other problems. When your teeth are evenly spaced, they will be easier to clean! Crowded teeth can create extra hiding places for harmful debris and bacteria. By balancing your smile, you are eliminating these hiding places and making it more difficult for bad bacteria to hang out in your mouth.

If you want a more beautiful, healthier smile, then orthodontic treatment is for you. We offer a great solution that can help you meet your goals without the hassle and long treatment time of traditional braces. Our Invisalign short-term solution is key to creating the smile you desire. Let’s talk about Invisalign and how it can help you achieve your goals.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign is made up of a series of clear plastic aligners that work together to gradually shift your teeth into the proper position. Sets of aligners are changed out every 2-3 weeks. Over a period of about 12 months, they reposition your teeth using gentle pressure to create a better appearance and a more balanced smile.

How is it different than traditional braces?

There are several unique features to Invisalign that make it a great option for adults who desire to straighten their teeth.  As the name implies, the clear aligners are nearly invisible.  They are much more comfortable to the lips and cheeks than conventional braces. We’ve never had a patient who had any objections to the fit and feel of the aligners. The Invisalign aligners are to be worn “22 hours per day.”  By that, the manufacturer means that they are to be worn except when eating and cleaning your teeth.  But, imagine how easy it is to clean your teeth during orthodontic services when the appliances can be removed during tooth brushing and flossing!
